Landsbyen Elk Horn, USA, blev kendt i Danmark, da dokumentaren "Danmark på prærien" blev vist i efteråret. Vi er tilbage i Elk Horn, hvor indbyggerne er blevet endnu mere bevidste om sine danske rødder. Der er kommet "Danmark" på skoleskemaet, og borgmester Stan Jens forsøger at lave sin første leve...

Kan man spise æbleskiver med medisterpølse til morgenmad? Det gør indbyggerne i den lille danske landsby Elk Horn på den amerikanske prærie. I gamle dage talte man dansk på gaden og alle indbyggerne hed Rasmussen, Hansen og Nielsen. Men nu er danskheden ved at forsvinde.
