There’s a kind of tired that doesn’t go away with a good night’s sleep. It’s the tired that comes from always being needed by work, by everyone else’s schedule, by a phone that never really stops.

Most of us are waiting for permission to rest that never comes such as a milestone, a breaking point, or someone telling us to slow down. Until then, it feels like something we have to earn.

You can’t manufacture that kind of quiet at home, because there’s always one more thing. At Silvarra, with nothing but the quiet hum of the mountains and the flicker of fireflies doing the talking, the noise in your mind starts to quiet too.

Fresh bread and local honey from our friends at The Appalachian Larder are already waiting on the counter as a small, warm invitation to slow down, before you’ve even set your bags down.

Consider this your permission. A few nights are still open in August and September. Come rest. We’ll take care of everything else.
