We have 8 cabins on the western edge of Burntside Lake on Tamarack bay, 12 miles west of Ely, Minnesota in the Superior National Forest. We are also on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness which is adjacent to the Canadian Quetico Provincial Park.It is QUIET, PRIVATE, and BEAUTIFUL. Burntside Lake is 9 miles long with 150 scenic islands, clear blue water, and LOTS of fish.

The rain finally found us , and the forest around Tamarack is loving it. Mushrooms are popping up, everything is green again, and there’s that unmistakable hint that fall is just around the corner. 🍂

Labor Day weekend is one of those beautiful in-between moments on Burntside Lake: summer isn’t quite over, the woods are starting to change, and there’s still time for one more paddle, campfire, fishing trip, or quiet morning by the lake.

🌲 An Update from Tamarack Resort 🌲

We know many of you have been watching the wildfire situation closely, and we wanted to share an update.

Tamarack Resort is safe, open, and not in an evacuation zone. While there are active wildfires in our region and conditions can change, yesterday’s rain brought much-needed relief and cleared much of the heavy smoke from our area.

We’ll continue to monitor conditions closely and will always put the safety of our guests, staff, and community first. If anything changes, we’ll communicate promptly.

For now, we’re here, the lake is beautiful, and we’re looking forward to welcoming guests. If you have questions about your reservation or current conditions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your continued support, and please keep our firefighters and everyone affected by these fires in your thoughts. ❤️
