This time of year, mother bears in Yellowstone Country have their work cut out for them wrangling cubs. 🐻 It’s today, and guests who take our Yellowstone tours have a chance to spot these amazing animals crossing roads or traversing the landscape.

Black bears are often called “ecosystem engineers” 🌳 because their activities enhance the environments they live in. By foraging for food, they encourage plant growth, and their dens provide habitats for many species. They may be the most common bear in North America, but their presence indicates a healthy ecosystem. 🌿

Ride with us as we gather the herd for branding. 🐎 An essential part of spring in Montana, branding ensures that each new calf is marked as a part of the herd, but also, that they are thoroughly examined for health concerns. 🩺 Doctoring the herd requires riding, roping and herdsmanship skills.
