Chief Seattle Council is seeking Scouting volunteers to help us connect more youth to the Scouting during the Washington State Fair Sept 4th - 27th. In particular, we are needing certified BB gun rangemasters or NRA r***e instructors to supervise BB gun ranges that will be part of our activity at the fair.

Camp Sheppard is looking for staff for the 2027 Winter Camp weekend programs for Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA. This camp season runs from December through March. Staff are needed in a variety of areas. A BSA membership number is required and anyone 18-years old and up needs a current SAFE Scouting Training certificate.

The safety of our scouts, volunteers and staff is of the utmost importance to Chief Seattle Council. With SR 410 closed and conditions continuing to worsen at Camp Sheppard, including approximately 24 inches of snow received overnight, we must cancel this weekend’s Scouts BSA Winter Camp session. Our current plan is to move the session to next weekend. We recognize that some units may have conflicts in doing this, so prepared to process refunds or look for other alternatives in the camping department. Please stay safe in your travels today and always.

Photos from Patrick's walk around Camp this morning revealing more fresh snow!
Camp Director Torin, camp staff, and all of us at Chief Seattle Council wish to extend a giant thank you to the Washington State DOT (WSDOT), their maintenance crews, Active Construction Inc., engineers and the additional support staff that have worked tirelessly to repair SR410 to its full capacity!
More than half of the roadway was undercut and washed away in the recent storms but thanks to the hard work of these teams, we are able to safely welcome Scouts and families to Winter Camp! We can't wait to see you!
