Ephraim, WI, was founded in 1853 by Norwegian Moravian immigrants under the leadership of Reverend Andreas Iverson and is one of the oldest organized communities in Door County. Up until 2016, Ephraim had famously remained Wisconsin’s only “dry” town for over 160 years, strictly prohibiting the sale of alcohol.

Did you know Door County is home to one of 270 International Dark Sky Places in the world? In the spring of 2017, Newport State Park in Ellison Bay officially became Wisconsin’s first International Dark Sky Park. On a clear night, you can expect to see millions of stars, and even the Milky Way.
