2024 is the start of offering short-term rental retreats at our ranch 15 minutes from Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest. Daisy the Highland cow is the very first member of our ranch family, not counting Moose the dog and the cats: Sierra, Butterscotch, & Special.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOUNG DIRECTORS AND VIDEOGRAPHERS!!!!!

A free video creator class for high school students. Starting in June, instructors Jared Long of SO ill CINEMA and Sean Lunt of Main Street Media So IL will teach students how to shoot and edit professional looking videos from pre to post production. On July 9th each video will premiere on the big screen at Harrisburg Amphitheater during Movie Night.

Age range: 14-18.

Where: Auditorium at City Hall 101 E Locust St, Harrisburg, IL.

When: 5:30pm-7:30pm on June 17, June 24, July 1, and July 8.

Premiere Event: July 10 during Movie Night at the Harrisburg Amphitheater at 8pm.

Vet visit today - Rusty is all good. He's just struggling to adjust to the heat. Lily & Daisy are both confirmed pregnant. We just weaned Poppy off of Honey so Honey gets some time to recoup. Then we have Dixie & Maggie, they both managed to evade their check-up. 🙃

At 30 months old, Rusty, our Highland steer and the first bull calf at Rustic Ridge, is the most docile animal on the farm. With his harness on Rusty loves to be walked around the property. He enjoys spending time in the pasture lounging with us laying on him or sitting on him. Rusty also loves to receive kisses and hugs, have some brush time and of course he loves snacks. What kind of snacks do you think Rusty enjoys?
