Camp Notre Dame began its humble beginnings with the purchase by the Catholic Diocese of Erie of 185 acres in Fairview Township. The year was 1959 and the dream behind the purchase was that the Camp would continue for years as a service to families and youth. Ten cabins were constructed that fall and winter to complement the three existing buildings, The Green House, The White Mansion, and the Horse Barn. Fifty years later, some 30,000 campers later and more than 700 staff in service to them, the dream continues to unfold! Through these 50 years, the Camp added the swimming pool and five buildings to its campus, including the Ranger Post as the home of our Parent / Child weekends through Fall, Winter and Spring. In 1994, The Camp was purchased by the Loyal Christian Benefit Association; an Erie based fraternal organization. The LCBA continued to offer the successful programs of the Camp and insured its future through its development efforts. The year 1998 saw the return of the camp under the sponsorship of the Diocese of Erie and supported by the significant generosity of benefactors. Year 'round service to kids and parents goes on and the dream of Camp Notre Dame, Inc. Memories that last a lifetime are made at Camp Notre Dame every year. Where better for youngsters to spend some great days of fun and grow and for parents to relive their own camp memories.

We know life gets busy. Schedules fill up, weekends disappear, and somehow the kids seem to grow a little more every time you blink. We promise, our Family Weekends will become everyone’s favorite weekend together!

Take a walk through the woods, laugh around the campfire, become a hockey pro or gotcha game master, and make the kind of memories everyone will talk about long after the weekend is over.

Never been to a CND family weekend before? Our sessions run from Friday evening through Sunday morning. We also offer a new Saturday daytime-only option for families who can’t stay the whole weekend but still want a little taste of Camp.

We’ll handle the activities, meals, snacks, and campfires. You just bring your family, slow down for a little while, and enjoy being together. & don’t forget the bug spray!

Thank you again to everyone who came to our Big Event Weekend! We are overwhelmed with gratitude and happiness, and we hope you had the very best time with your families, friends, and loved ones. Whether you stopped in for the afternoon or stayed the whole weekend, traveled from down the road or across the country, we’re mighty glad you were here. 💚

🌲 Congratulations to our award recipients, Dennis, Aimee, and Al! Each of you consistently demonstrates and lives out our CARE mission, shows up for Camp, and gives so much of your time, talent, and heart to our Camp and our community. We are so grateful for you!

🌲 THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our live and silent auctions! And a huge thank you to Carson of C and C Auctioneers for keeping us laughing and helping us raise more than $4,000! Every dollar raised through the auctions will go directly toward our Building Tomorrow’s Camp, Together campaign.

🌲 THANK YOU to our Big Event Weekend planning committee! In less than three months, they helped design and build this weekend from the ground up, giving their time, creativity, energy, and countless hours to bring it all together. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Thank you to everyone who came out, visited, celebrated, danced, laughed, and supported our first-ever Big Event Weekend! What a way to kick off a new Camp Notre Dame tradition!
