Screaming Eagle Lodge Screaming Eagle Lodge One of the original structures built (1917) in Fawnskin , CA (North Shore of Big Bear Lake).

A historic lodge/cabin being stabilized, preserved, rehabilitated, restored, & updated by Steve & Theresa Downey of Orange County, CA. Fawnskin's elevation is 6,827, & has a population of 311 as of 2019, compared to Big Bear Lake with a population of 5,241, & an elevation of 6752. Big Bear Lake is a ten minute drive from Fawnskin.

Three drowned dead animals/rodents fell out of a trash can I emptied partially filled with water (😳 yikes 😬). I called the exterminator service to come get them, but almost immediately the scavengers descended carrying the carcasses off 🫣.

🏔️The last of the snow on San Gargonio.
Our Screaming Eagle Lodge sign 🦅 is holding up well, but our bears 🐻 are in need of some TLC. Later this summer 🌞 in August I’ve scheduled some refurbishment, & hope they’ll be able to be saved 🤞.

The weather is perfect, along with the view. Finished up my latest summer time bee themed scrap quilt 😁🧵🪡.
