As the steam is preparing to rise for Winter Steam Festival on December 28,29 and 30th, Golden Spike National Historical Park will close at 3 pm on December 24th to allow locomotive engineers and staff a chance to prepare the Jupiter locomotive for its winter run. Engine house tours will be available at 10:30 am and 1 pm.

Come see the Jupiter during the Winter Steam Festival and be transported back in time to the 1860s through the unique opportunity to smell, hear, see and feel the power of this Victorian-era steam locomotive.

Enjoy the snow!

We have received 5” of new snow in the past 24hrs. An inch or two fell after the lifts closed. It is currently 22 degrees and snowing lightly at 6am. So far we are liking 2023. Today’s forecast is for 1-2” of snow and a high of 25 degrees.
