The New River Escape Barn Lofts feature beautiful views of the New River’s South Fork from a self-catering, open concept suite on the top of an 1880s refurbished dairy barn.
Tucked away between Todd and Fleetwood, this relaxing location allows paddlers, tubers and fishermen direct entrance to the New River, cyclist and runners access to Railroad Grade Road and hikers entry to the woods behind 'The Escape.' Book lovers and loungers will find serene grounds full of relaxing spots that make one feel worlds away from the stresses of everyday life. At The New River Escape, we aim to offer our guests a unique haven of relaxation and tranquility on the historic and wild New River.

❤️ Hard to believe it’s been 30 years since Shane and I said “I do!”

We planned our wedding in just three months and did it our way—seasonal flowers, “Martha Stewart” carved pumpkins with candles, New York cheesecake, and locally sourced everything. Shane’s granddad officiated, and Trish and Andy stood up with us. My mom made my dress and Trish picked an outfit she could wear again. Our ceremony was sweet, the reception was a BLAST, and we were surrounded by our favorite people.

Thirty years later, our wish for every couple who gets married at our barn is simple:

Do it YOUR way! Choose what matters to you, surround yourself with the people you love, and create a day that feels like you.

It doesn’t have to be bigger or fancier. It just has to be yours. ❤️🥂

Six thousand five hundred cookies.

Yes—6,500 homemade cookies made by Sophia’s aunties for this wedding. 🍪🍪🍪

After nine years of seeing incredible wedding dessert tables, I can confidently say this one is the MACDADDY of them all! 😳

Guests could enjoy as many cookies as they wanted—and even take home a to-go box. Amazing. 🍪❤️

But this was about so much more than dessert. It was love, time, family tradition, and an unforgettable wedding experience baked into every single cookie.

Congratulations, Dylan and Sophia! May your lives together be as sweet as your dessert table!

What an honor to be part of Eleanor and Zack’s amazing wedding! ❤️

It’s pretty fun to go to another venue, decorate, coordinate, enjoy the celebration—and then walk out the door without having to worry about the logistics of the facility! 😂

Couple that with the fact that this bride and her family are dear friends, and getting to watch these two start their life together… well, it’s kind of a dream job!

Congratulations to the newlyweds! 🥂🎉 Wishing you a lifetime of laughter, travel, good health, and lots of adventures together!
