Hector was VERY excited to see George, or maybe just the bucket of chicken. George uses his bucket as a shield, gets Hector settled down, then spends some one on one time with him to see just how reactive he’s feeling.

This gator had one thing on his mind: getting to that bucket of chicken. He climbed right up onto the tree stump in the Gator pit, but the leaves growing out of it got in the way. A few bites later, he realized pretty quickly that he had grabbed the wrong snack. It’s pretty cute!

Take a closer look at Fahrenheit’s nails. There’s definitely a little polish still hanging on, and we’re pretty sure Devin had something to do with it.

George also treated Fahrenheit to a nice piece of chicken, and she came right up like the good girl she is. She may be a rescued alligator, but apparently she still likes a little style with her snacks.

Ever wonder what an alligator actually feels like? While feeding Darth Gator and the rest of our rescued alligators in the pit, Devin gives you a closer look. Much of an alligator’s body is protected by hard bony plates called osteoderms that act like natural armor, while other areas are much softer and have an almost leathery feel. It is one of those things you really have to see up close to appreciate. Watch as Devin breaks it down while spending some time with Darth Gator and the rest of the rescued crew here at the park.
