Sometimes the best vacation memories happen when you wander a little farther. Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve in Fort Myers offers a peaceful boardwalk through cypress wetlands, surrounded by beautiful greenery and local wildlife.

🌊🏗️ FORT MYERS BEACH PIER — A NEW CHAPTER IS TAKING SHAPE! 🌴

Another exciting milestone in the comeback of Fort Myers Beach! ☀️

The final remnants of the old pier, damaged by Hurricane Ian in 2022, have now been removed, and construction crews are installing the permanent foundation piles that will support the new pier.

After years of waiting, it's wonderful to see real progress taking shape at one of our island's most beloved landmarks! 💙

📍 What's happening now?
🔨 Permanent foundation installation is underway.
🏗️ The old pier structure has been cleared.
🌊 The replacement pier will stretch approximately 1,000 feet into the Gulf.
📅 Completion is currently targeted for summer 2027, weather permitting.

✨ Fort Myers Beach is getting ready to glow! 🌴

On Saturday, November 7, the Illuminations Parade will bring glowing lanterns, light-up costumes and island community spirit to Estero Boulevard. Organized by What’s Up FMB, this free, family-friendly walking parade begins near 2307 Estero Boulevard and finishes at Bayside Veterans Park. 🌟

Whether you create a lantern or cheer from the sidelines, it’s a lovely way to celebrate the people and creativity that make our island special.

The Chamber lists an evening event window of 5:30–8 PM. Check the organizer’s latest details for the exact step-off time and route before heading out.
