The Whynot Lodge is no more since Steve's passing. It has been sold (will not be a lodge) and I've packed up and moved 4 states away to be close to my son.

Because of the memories Steve Crochet and I, Claire Crochet left and our guests left, I will leave the Whynot page up indefinitely.
Thank you again to everyone who helped us make great memories.

I'd like to take this time to post to those who may not know, why our lodge is closing.
This past January Steve Crochet unexpectedly passed away. The last 3 months have been very difficult for me without him as I make some tough decisions and manage day to day on my own and try to move forward.

Thank you to all who have reached out and who've stayed with us at the lodge, I hope you all have fond memories of Steve and the lodge.

Today is Halloween for everyone, but for me it is the 9th anniversary of my marriage to the most beautiful woman in the world! Claire Crochet I love you more today than all of the days before this one! We have survived so many changes in our lives and continue to grow stronger in our love! The Whynot Lodge is extending an end of season special starting September 3rd through October 30th. 20% off per night, per person.

We've had a few folks up this summer and now that we'll be going into fall this would be a perfect time to do a get away to our secluded homestead in Montana. It's a unique, yet, enjoyable stay. Come to hike, fish, do your artistry or just get some peace and serenity. You'll get the entire downstairs, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, kitchenette and living room suite that sleeps 4 to yourselves with a private entrance and patio.

I was sleeping outside again last night. I was awaken from a deep comfortable sleep with Bacchus barking at something directly below me. I went down to investigate (now mind you, I'm butt naked wearing only a pair of my pillow slippers) and there's a rattle snake coiled and ready to strike just sitting on the bottom patio. Needless to say I beat the hell out of it until it died.
