HEADS UP:
A strong solar storm arrived at our outer satellite earlier today. This has caused the aurora the ramp up on the dark side of earth, with G3 levels reached. This means aurora may have been visible down to Indianapolis, IN, Dayton OH, ETC...
Attention turns to our chances here in Michigan for tonight. We have a few things to mention that may dampen the news.. so let's discuss real quick.
1. This solar storm appears to be weakening. If data continues to weaken through the afternoon, we may see aurora be tied to northern Michigan areas. It's a wait and see game. Cross your fingers.
2. Cloud cover. High clouds are expected tonight across southern Michigan, all the way up to about Mount Pleasant. If statewide aurora occurs, you may not get a clear look at it unless you live north of Mount Pleasant. I will attach the stargazing outlook in the comments below.
