GWR maintains six water troughs throughout the property to ensure that wildlife has access to water.

We have a water tank mounted on the rear of our Can-Am UTV, and every week we haul water to each of the troughs. It takes several trips to fill them all and typically requires about 1½ hours of our time each week.

Although we have a tank dug out on the property that naturally retains water, it does not qualify for our wildlife exemption. The water provided must be supplemental.

Providing supplemental food and water is an important part of maintaining the wildlife habitat at GWR. Without these efforts, it would be much less likely that you would see the abundance and variety of wildlife that the property currently supports.

It takes consistent time, effort, and resources to maintain these supplemental water sources, but we believe it is well worth it to support the wildlife that calls GWR home.

The white fallow is back! She’s been showing up around the feeders throughout the property and usually has several chocolate fallows with her.

It’s truly an experience to see this kind of wildlife up close. Keep an eye out for her when you’re relaxing on the porch or driving through the property in the Kawasaki Mule. You never know when she might make an appearance!
