We are a hidden oasis nestled in the heart of Downtown Gainesville. Our rooms are personalized, our gardens and grounds are gorgeous, and
you’ll love our modern amenities and packages! Our 2 beautiful Victorian homes were built in the
late 1800’s. The Holbrook family began
restoring them in 1978, and Cornelia Holbrook
opened the Cushman-Colson house as Sweetwater Inn in 1993. Sweetwater now featur

es 29 rooms and cottages, with our
lush Florida gardens complete with babbling
fountains, romantic gazebo, colonnade, and 30 foot in-ground heated salt pool and spa! Every reservation includes a complimentary
evening wine & cheese hour as well as a
delicious homemade breakfast each morning. We’d love to be your home-away-from-home. Sweetwater’s location is perfect. We’re right on University Avenue
in historic Downtown Gainesville;
mere blocks from the University of Florida,
Shands Hospital and Academic Health Center,

Welcome to the Cornelia Room—our first feature in the Room Series at Sweetwater Branch Inn, a historic boutique bed and breakfast in Gainesville, Florida.

Located on the second floor of the Cushman-Colson House, this thoughtfully designed room is named after our owner, Cornelia, and reflects the timeless character of the inn itself.

Inside, guests enjoy a queen bed, a twin daybed, and a spacious walk-in shower—perfect for couples, small families, or anyone looking for a cozy historic getaway in Gainesville, FL.

At Sweetwater all our guests are treated to a full hot breakfast every morning! From Sweetwater classics like our French Toast Casserole to fluffy eggs and assorted fresh fruit, we have everything for the perf breakfast spread!

Not a Sweetwater guest? No problem! You can still enjoy our breakfast! Just give us a call to make a reservation at least 12 hours in advance. We also accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions!
