ALDHA Volunteers Workday At Ironmasters Mansion Is A Great Success

Following the 2026 Appalachian Long Distance Hikers Association (ALDHA) Gathering in Gettysburg, PA, approximately 17 volunteers gathered at the nearby Ironmasters Mansion for a workday on October 12. The eager volunteers painted doors, windows and shutters on the south deck of the Mansion, and weeded several gardens around the Mansion. Afterward they enjoyed a dinner prepared by ALDHA volunteers.

This workday follows a long tradition of a Trail related workday following ALDHA’s annual Gathering. The Ironmasters and the A.T. Museum are deeply grateful for the important work done by this group. The Ironmasters plans to schedule more workdays to spruce up the Mansion.

The Ironmasters Mansion is an historical building constructed in 1829, one of the oldest buildings in Cumberland County, PA. It’s been operated by the Appalachian Trail Museum since 2020. For more information email [email protected]
