I just wanted everyone who visits our page that they just added an Almost Heaven swing in the area about 6 miles from our lodging home. Nice view and a good trip for a quick picture of you and your group around the swing!

Just checking in to let everyone know that the flood has devastated much of the city area. The trails are still open and we have availability for now until April.

Mama Dood’s would like to welcome the year 2025. Sherry and Big C have had some hard times the past couple of years, health wise and business wise. We have been sprucing the house up, a little painting and some patchwork but we have never closed.
Our business will continue to service the Gary area as a clean, quiet place to visit and enjoy what southern West Virginia has to offer. We are still on the Warrior connector in Ream No. 6. just a few minutes to the trail.
Our pricing will continue to be the lowest and has not changed since opening in 2018, but we are forced to make a profit or continue losing money.

We want to acknowledge the Pratt brothers, Roy and Roland who spent a couple of nights here. They were on the way to Culpepper,Va. to a family reunion. Roy was from Ohio and Roland came from Arizona. Hope your trip has been fun and safe.

Mama Dood’s wants to thank Paul and Vicki Wertz from Pa. for choosing to spend the last five days with us and explore the southern part of our state. We are grateful nothing caused your vacation to be ruined. Come back, the Fall is a beautiful time with the color of the changing landscape!

MamaDood’s would like to thank the Hood family and the Bennett family for allowing us the pleasure of hosting them last weekend. They drove all day from Indiana to get to Gary, WV to find they had no place to stay. We were blessed to have them and we welcome them back anytime. We don’t have anyone booked as yet for the next few weeks, give us a holler. We will treat you better than family!

Sherry and I enjoyed the visit last weekend from Tina Parker of Kentucky. Her dad used to live in the house and played sports at Gary High, she loved staying and sightseeing in the area. If you get a chance and see her books offered, grab one, she is an accomplished author and poet.
