Step into the shadow-lit world of 19th-century Spiritualism at the Farnsworth House Inn for An Evening of Spiritualism: Unveiling the Veil.

In the 1800s, parlors became portals, tables tapped out messages, and half of America wanted a word with the dearly departed. Professor Kerrigan will take you through the whole peculiar story. It starts with the Fox Sisters and the little rapping that started it all. Then come the mediums, the séance tools of the trade, and the strange and slippery tale of ectoplasm. We’ll also take an honest look at the fraud and controversy that followed the movement everywhere it went.

And then, dear guests, see the magic at work. You’ll see the sleight of hand, the conjuring, and the clever misdirection that could make the sharpest observer doubt their own senses, all in plain view with every light on. Bring your questions, your skepticism, and your curiosity. The Professor welcomes all three.

👁️ THE MIRROR HAS SOMETHING TO SHOW YOU. 👁️

Our haunted cellar mirror was recently featured on the Travel Channel's Paranormal Caught on Camera, and the images that aired have people talking.

The photographs were taken by our guest Braxton Robison, and it shows what appears to be an entity in the mirror.

The Farnsworth House takes its role as steward of the history, relics, artifacts, and hauntings of this property very seriously. We will always do everything within our power to protect the safety and well-being of our employees, guests, and visitors, and to safeguard the house, its relics, its artifacts, and its spirits. Our duty is to preserve and tell the history, lore, and legends of this property and its spirit residents.

Because of these images, we have invited several professional investigation teams to join our own investigators and spiritual team as we dive deeper into this mystery.

Are these professional investigators brave enough to face what's in the mirror? Are you?

We believe, as Edward Bulwer-Lytton wrote in 1861, that "common reasoners reject a good, well authenticated ghost story altogether. But real philosophers delight in one."

So come down to the cellar, stand before the glass, and decide for yourself.
