An important message from Brad and Loran.
Beginning November 2nd, Cape Ann Motor Inn will run without us, under new ownership. Future reservations will be honored and we will sincerely miss you all, quite honestly more than we can express.
While we can count the very special years, the July 4ths, the summer seasons, and the Christmases (there have been 53 of each), what we cannot count are the guests, the connections, the smiles, the laughs, the friendships, or the memories. Like the footprints on our beach, there have been millions.
Your stories, your families, and your vacations have become the very fabric of our lives and the very heart of what has made Cape Ann Motor Inn our family's joy.
Watching your families laugh and grow, welcome new members, and sometimes mourn loved ones lost has been a privilege we can hardly put into words. Playing a small part in your most important memories, and being on the periphery of your laughter and love, has made every day of this work an honor.
Over these 53 years, what began as our family's work became so much more than we could ever have imagined. Cape Ann Motor Inn has been a place where generations have returned, children have grown up, traditions have taken root, and friendships have endured. We have watched familiar faces become dear friends and welcomed new faces who, in time, became familiar, too.
You have given us far more than we could ever have given you. You have filled these years with purpose, laughter, belonging, and a lifetime of stories that we will carry with us long after the doors close on this chapter.
Our love for this place has always extended far beyond the sands of our beach. As local business owners, we have believed deeply in the importance of giving back, and in doing our part to make a meaningful, lasting difference in the city of Gloucester and surrounding communities of Cape Ann. Because to us, being a part of this community has never been just about running an inn; it has been about investing in the people, the places, and the future of a community we love.
As we say goodbye, we do so with hearts overflowing with gratitude. Thank you for choosing us, for returning year after year, for sharing your lives with us, and for allowing our family to be a small part of yours. You have made these 53 years extraordinary, and we will forever treasure the privilege of having been part of your summers, your holidays, your milestones, and your memories.
Fifty-three years may be the end of our time as your innkeepers, but the memories, friendships, and love we have shared will always be part of who we are.
With all our love and deepest gratitude, there's no more room at the inn for us, but we will always leave a light on for you in our hearts.
