The Nathaniel Inn is closing its doors, after 8 years owning this 1873 home and cottage we are down sizing to focus on our other ventures. It’s been a very hard decision and one we never thought we’d make. Ever since I was young I wanted to renovate an old home, now that my husband and I have done three I can check that box. As this chapter comes to a close, I am enlivened to dream about what’s next. Thank you to our guests who visited and enjoyed our carefully renovated home and cottage. Hosting you and hearing of your gushing feedback of our home and our surrounding area gave me so much joy!

About Us

As much as my husband and I enjoy travelling, every time we come back home to Gordonsville after vacation; we wonder why we ever left. The smell of the fresh mountain air, the mountain views, and all the things to do in our local area: the wineries, the trails, the National Parks, great places to eat, the list goes on. On our local weekend jaunts I’ve always enjoyed stopping in at little Main Streets of Virginia and checking out the old buildings, antique stores and mom and pop restaurants. In particular, every time I’d drive down Main Street Gordonsville I’d dream of the “what ifs” of owning and renovating one of those old historic homes. I guess enough talking about it finally prompted me to start looking around at houses and what we could do with them. That’s when we settled on something like an Inn, lodging for those visiting our area and also for family visiting residents from out of town.

We found 502 N Main in quite disarray and quickly realized we had a hefty task of renovations ahead of us. Our eager misunderstanding of the complexities of old homes turned a short renovation into almost 2 years. Every layer removed revealed a story about the house and something that needed fixing. We have saved this old home and I’m so excited to open it up for all residents and tourists alike to enjoy.

The Nathaniel Inn, named after Gordonsville’s namesake Nathaniel Gordon, consists of three separate suites and the detached cottage that can also be rented together. They all have been completely renovated, down to the earth and brick walls and retrofitted with modern amenities and creature comforts for a wonderful stay in Central Virginia.
