Event planner tip: Involve your AV company before selecting your venue.
We can often tell you on the spot whether what you’re envisioning can or can’t be done in a particular space.
We had a client who wanted to fly their product in the air during the event. The venue didn’t have airwall hangers or the rigging capabilities needed to do it. By the time that was discovered, the venue contract had already been signed—and the client was understandably upset that it hadn’t been brought to their attention sooner.
That’s why it helps to bring your AV company into the conversation before you commit to a venue.
We can help look at things like rigging capabilities, ceiling height, room size, power, load-in access, and whether the space can actually support the production you have in mind.
Sometimes the venue may hold the people—but not the production.
