Interested in targeting one of the best tasting and largest growing fish in North Carolina? This workshop is designed to teach the basics of targeting catfish in the coastal rivers and reservoirs across the state. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to sharpen your fishing skills, this class is perfect for you! Topics include species ID, gear and tackle, rigging styles, bait selection, and locating catfish in rivers and lakes. Taught by a NCWRC Angler Engagement Coordinator.

Spend a day exploring the world of dinosaurs! Participants will learn about local dinosaurs through different activities, including crafts, games, fossil exploration on Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Fees are $4.00 per child for Greenville residents and $6.00 per child for nonresidents. Fees will be paid at the Nature Center upon arrival on September 12.

In observance of Labor Day, visitors wanting to fish will not require a Park fishing permit on Monday, September 7th, 2026. Visitors will still be required to have a North Carolina State Inland Fishing License.
