It’s beautiful weather for a hike in Greer! But bring your raincoats 🤗

I decided to try naked hiking.

I’ll be honest…

I felt a little vulnerable.

Every breeze caught my attention.

I started wondering if the birds noticed.

A squirrel stopped what he was doing and just stared.

Pretty sure he judged me.

I knelt beside a little creek to cool off.

The water felt incredible.

A frog hit the water so hard you’d have thought he’d seen something he wasn’t supposed to.

I didn’t run into another person for hours.

Which, in hindsight, was probably for the best.

By the time I made it back to the trailhead, I realized I hadn’t missed it once.

Turns out I can survive a whole afternoon without my phone.

What the hell did y’all think I meant?

WARNING.. EMERGENCY ALERT ISSUED ... THURSDAY TO SATURDAY BY HERE AT Arizona Weather Force

What you are seeing now is a baby of what is to come. The high pressure center is only gaining position and while tomorrow will have less activity... Thursday into Saturday will nail Prescott.. Grand Canyon ... Flagstaff ... Gila.. Maricopa ... Pinal.. Pima ... Greenlee ... Graham..and Santa Cruz County ...

Think the movie Jumanji with the Monsoon ...

Our model numbers showed this event at less than 0.5 inches... this shows over 4 ... it means everyone in the yellow to red areas will flood.

I don't take model numbers at glance I look at what happened today in AZ and have to adjust numbers to find a commonality...

Now is the time to listen and you know damn well I dont take warnings like this lightly ... Its official to you now and no one else will tell u this magnitude of accuracy... be safe... daily updates to come ...

That 0.9 inches i showed is actually 4 inches.

This fascinates me…especially the bit about us entering a “global cooling” 💃

This fascinates me…especially the bit about us entering a “global cooling” 💃

Not all El Nino winters will look like this. We are in an intensifying Grand Solar Minimum and that will disrupt the normal El Nino pattern. A Grand Solar Minimum can further increase Southern California rainfall and bring GSM storms instead of El Nino storms. Or a Mix of Both.

We seen this before in 1884 AD and in other years.

Canonical El Ninos can actually set up that colder air over the Southwestern USA.

Typically, the El Nino strengthens the Pacific Jet Stream (aka Warm Subtropical Jet) and takes a Hawaii Track into Southern California bringing very high snow levels. Snow Levels can fluctuate and come down somewhat, but typically stay at 7000 feet or above, in some cases remain above 9000 feet. Just depends on how warm that El Nino storm is.

But there are instances where you do get the colder polar jet stream in an El Nino year as the Subtropical Jet is forced further south slightly and the polar jet takes its place and you can get snow levels down to 2000 feet or lower. We have seen snowfall levels in history reach coastal zones including Downtown Los Angeles and even in San Diego during some El Nino years.

Again, what is the source of the climatic driving? Because its not always the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO). We have much stronger cycles that govern our weather and climate. Its like having a boss, your boss their own boss above them, and that boss has a boss above that. Well, the Gliessberg Minimum was above the 1883/1884 El Nino and it had Krakatoa's 1883 VEI 6 Eruption which was more powerful than the Mount Pinatubo Eruption of 1991.

Chain of Command...

#1 Boss Gliessberg Minimum of the Sun 1880-1914 (1975-1935)
#2 Boss Krakatoa's 1883 VEI 6 Eruption
#3 Strong Canonical El Nino

El Nino was not in charge during the 1883/1884 Storm Season as it was heavily influenced by the stronger moderate Gliessberg Minimum and powerful Krakatoa eruption and that resulted in unusually heavy rainfall and snowfall even for a Strong Canonical El Nino in Southern California with the jet stream through San Diego County.

My El Nino Winter prediction does not look like this, and its unusually snowy for quite a few areas with cold blasts for some. These images can be very misleading especially as we are entering are legit in a global cooling era right now which will deepen into the coldest weather anyone alive today has ever experienced. Snow will return to places like Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, and Phoenix in the years and decades ahead.

Lastly, you'll see variations to these kinds of maps. Everything is placed slightly different, while some are the same.

Confidence is increasing that remnant tropical moisture associated with former Tropical Storm Boris over southern Mexico will begin spreading northward into the Desert Southwest late this week, continuing into the weekend. The subtropical ridge will nudge east, paired with a weak upper low developing off the Baja Peninsula. This setup allows southerly flow to transport the moisture into southern Arizona and portions of far southeastern California from Thursday through the weekend. Atmospheric moisture values rise to 1.0 to 1.5 inches across southern Arizona by the weekend. This quality moisture surge is more than enough to support shower and thunderstorm development, favoring the higher terrain. The first very isolated storms may develop as early as Thursday near the International Border and mountains of southern Arizona. Rain and storm chances are expected to increase Friday through the weekend as deeper moisture overspreads the region. The highest coverage of showers and storms is expected across southeastern Arizona, the Sky Islands, White Mountains and areas near the New Mexico border where terrain-driven convection will be favored each afternoon and evening with the addition of daytime heating - some of those storms may drift into the valleys at times. Across southeastern California, including portions of Imperial County and areas near the lower Colorado River Valley, moisture levels will increase as well. While storm coverage is expected to be less than in Arizona, isolated showers and storms may develop near the higher terrain and drift into adjacent desert locations. Be weather aware if you have weekend boating, camping or hiking plans - storms could produce lightning, gusty winds and localized flooding
