Mushroom Monday! 🍄🍁🌲

For the first time ever, we are open to the public for mushroom scouting!

🍄 Mushroom Facts
1. 🌲 The redwoods have a whole underground network! Many fungi form partnerships with tree roots, helping trees absorb nutrients and water in exchange for sugars.
2. 🍄‍🟫 The mushroom is only part of the story! Most of a fungus is often hidden in soil or wood as a network of tiny threads called mycelium.
3.🌲 The Redwood Coast is a mushroom lover’s paradise! More than 750 mushroom species are covered in the regional field guide Mushrooms of the Redwood Coast.
4.🔎 Mushroom hunting doesn’t have to mean picking! Just remember that wild mushrooms can be poisonous, so admire and photograph rather than taste.

Every weekend in October, the campground comes alive with Halloween fun!

🏕️ Site Decorating Contest
Get creative and deck out your campsite! Our staff will choose a winner each weekend, who will receive a $100 gift certificate toward a future reservation.

🎃 Saturday Night Fun — 6:30 PM
Join us for our Halloween Costume Parade! Come dressed up and show off your spooky, silly, or creative costume.

Then we’ll head over to Fernnies for:
🍬 A Halloween candy bag
🎬 A family-friendly movie under the redwoods
🎨 Pumpkin painting will also be available for anyone who wants to join in!

Come camp, get spooky, and make some Halloween memories in the redwoods. 🍂🎃🌲

September greeted us with a warm, soft rain, and now the redwood forest smells deep, earthy, and almost ancient. 🌲🌧️

It’s the kind of smell that makes you slow down & take a deep breath.
