Camp JOY

Along with camp registration comes the need for volunteers! There are many ways to serve at Camp JOY:

• Cabin Leaders—experienced Camp JOY alumni with a heart for serving Jesus Christ
• Assistant Cabin Leaders—stay in the cabin helping the leaders
• Junior Leaders—Camp JOY teens assisting cabin leaders
• Day Help—help with activities, fishing, crafts, kickball, archery, riflery, Bible memory, and more
• Kitchen Help—wash dishes, chop veggies, bake cookies, etc.
• General Helpers—mop floors, restock supplies, water flower beds

Saturday Work Days: May 16, 23, 30, and June 13 & 27 from 8 AM–Noon. June 27 will focus on preparing the kitchen for camp—cleaning cabinets, washing linens, cleaning refrigerators, and generally revving everything up for camp!

There's an opportunity for teens to participate in a training called Christian Youth In Action® (CYIA™), a summer ministry program of Child Evangelism Fellowship. Last year, they held their training at Camp JOY & they plan to again this year IF THEY HAVE ENOUGH TEENS.

CYIA is a program designed to train young people in effective & engaging ways to teach children about God. They'll attend a 1-week training school where they'll learn to present the Gospel clearly on a child’s level, counsel a child for salvation & lead a dynamic club ministry for kids. Components of this club include teaching a Bible lesson, a real-life missionary story & a Bible verse, as well as leading songs, games & a fun review time.

We highly recommend setting aside time for Lenten Luncheons on Wednesdays from Ash Wednesday through Holy Week. Our very own camp director, Rocky Schmied, will be speaking at the first luncheon on February 18th at the First United Presbyterian Church in Guthrie on Noble Avenue.

What a beautiful snow we had, this was taken at night here at the camp. The snow reminds me of Isaiah 1:18:
“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the LORD,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
