Time for a little fall makeover at the resort! 🍂

I usually wait until after Labor Day to swap out the summer flowers, but with Labor Day falling so late this year, I just couldn’t wait. Out came the summer blooms and in went the mums, ornamental cabbage, pumpkins and gourds. 🌼🍁

September at the lake is one of our favorite times of year—cooler days, quiet water, fewer crowds, and soon, those beautiful fall colors. If you’ve been thinking about sneaking away for a peaceful fall getaway, this might be your sign.

🪶 Minnie & Mannie Update!

It’s been a while since we’ve shared an update on our favorite little loons, mostly because they’re getting harder and harder to keep track of!

Minnie and Mannie have graduated from hanging close to home in the bay and are now busy exploring more of the lake. And lately, Mom and Dad have added flying lessons to the curriculum.

They’re looking less like chicks these days and more like loons with some of their coloring coming in.

We recently heard that only about 25% of loon chicks make it through the summer, so we’re feeling pretty happy that both have thrived with those odds!

We still have a few openings now through Labor Day, which means there’s still time to sneak in one last getaway to the lake before summer slips away.

And now that we’re down to just a 3-night minimum stay required… you’d be crazy not to. 😉

Come squeeze in a few more days of lake time, fishing, campfires, relaxing, and doing absolutely nothing if that’s what you need. With just four cabins on our quiet, private lake, it’s the perfect place to soak up the last days of summer.

It’s our turn to share photos from our “week at the lake”! ❤️

Every summer, our kids and grandkids come from North Dakota & North Carolina to spend time at the lake, and it’s something we look forward to all year. There’s just something special about having everyone together at the lake- swimming, fishing, laughing, relaxing, and simply being together.

We’re already counting down the days until next year!

Missing this year were Caleb & Drew- those dang jobs get in the way of all the fun!😂
