🌶️🏆 What a GREAT turnout for our Drum Bay Chili Cook-Off! 🏆🌶️

What a wonderful evening filled with delicious chili, laughter, and great fellowship!

We had 8 delicious pots of chili competing for the title, and the competition was tough!

🎉 Congratulations to Becky Snead, our 2026 Chili Cook-Off Champion! 🏆🌶️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who brought chili, came out to taste, and helped make this event such a success!

It’s gatherings like these that make our Drum Bay community so special. ❤️

Community Safety Reminder:

The Fire Department has asked us to please call them if we smell plastic, rubber, or other prohibited materials being burned in our community so they can respond and investigate.

Please remember that burning plastic and rubber is ILLEGAL. These materials can release harmful and toxic smoke into the air and create a serious health concern for those nearby.

This is especially important in our community because we have a resident who has undergone a lung transplant. Exposure to smoke and toxic fumes can be particularly dangerous for someone with vulnerable lungs.

If you smell plastic, rubber, or other questionable materials burning, please do not approach the property yourself. The Fire Department has specifically asked that you call them and allow them to handle the situation.

Just a quick reminder about the wagons that were donated for use at the dock. The wagons were provided to help members carry coolers, chairs, fishing gear, and other items to and from the dock.

It appears that one wagon—the red canvas wagon—has been removed from the dock area. If someone has it, could you please return it so it can remain available for everyone to use?

We really appreciate the items that are donated for our community, and we ask that they please stay at the dock for their intended use.

Thank you for helping us take care of our community amenities!

This is kind of what it looks like. Its wheels are black and it folds.

The Drum Bay Board of Directors continues to work with the county to address the long-standing junk and debris issue on Richardson Street. While these matters can take time as they move through the proper legal and county processes, we remain committed to seeing this through and appreciate everyone’s patience and support.

We would also like to remind all property owners that excessive junk, debris, and unmaintained lots can have a significant impact on our community. They can lower neighboring property values, discourage prospective buyers from purchasing in our neighborhood, and affect everyone’s investment in their homes and property. Keeping our community clean and well-maintained helps preserve not only its beauty but also the value of our properties.

Please do not allow junk and debris to accumulate on your lots. If you need assistance removing unwanted items, there are local junk removal and dumpster rental services that may be able to help. The county dump is also conveniently located just off Cople Highway. Additionally, please be aware that illegal dumping—even on your own property—can be considered a violation of county regulations and may result in fines or other enforcement actions.

We all chose Drum Bay because of its natural beauty and sense of community. Let’s continue working together to make it a place we’re proud to call home. A little effort from each of us goes a long way toward protecting the neighborhood for current and future property owners.

Thank you to the many neighbors who take pride in maintaining their properties. Your efforts truly make a difference.
