The Ledyard Canoe Club was founded by Dartmouth Students in 1920, and named in honor of John Ledyard:
“A man who, in his first year as a Dartmouth student (Class of 1777), grew tired of his studies, felled a pine tree, dug out a canoe, and set off own the Connecticut to become an explorer.”
The club continues this tradition, with an annual Trip to the Sea, which sends seniors traveling down the Connecticut River from Hanover to the Long Island sound.
Hanover Inn guests are invited to stop by the Ledyard Canoe Clubhouse on the Connecticut River to rent a canoe, a kayak, or a stand-up paddleboard. Tap the link to learn more! https://heyor.ca/5Oj8sn
