The neighborhood deer🦌 were active this weekend. Some of our guests got to look out the window and see this visitor grazing near the fire pit Saturday morning.

We had videos of two deer walking up to the office overnight too. I wonder if they are hoping for pumpkins like last year... Unfortunately for the deer, our summer flowers are still blooming and looking stunning, so we haven't yet embraced the fall decor. 🎃

The leaves have all changed and mostly fallen, but the tamaracks are just starting to get their color. I didn't know what a tamarack tree was until we moved up here, but now they're one of my favorite trees! The tamaracks look like evergreens, but they are actually a deciduous tree that changes colors and drops its needles. I love that up here we get two waves of color! If you're in the Hayward area in these next couple weeks make sure you watch out for the changing tamaracks!

We really felt the love 💕 this past weekend! We were so lucky to host some family friends and their family. They came up to ride the trails and blessed us with some extra downtime. It was awesome to see them loading up into their UTVs, hanging out at the fire pit 🔥 (and letting us join in), just enjoying each other's company! You don’t have to show up with cookies when you stay with us, but we certainly won’t stop you! 🍪😆

​A huge thank you to one of our frequent guests who brought us these delicious gifts this weekend. (I couldn't even wait long enough to take a picture before eating one! 🤷‍♀️)

​We have so many regular guests here this weekend who have been staying with us over the last 15 months. It honestly feels like a weekend surrounded by good friends.

​I was hoping to capture a shot of everyone hanging out together on the patio, but you'll just have to settle for the cookies!

I know summer just ended and school just started... But the fall colors are already starting to peek through up here. If you're looking forward to seeing the very best Wisconsin fall colors,🍁 don't forget to book your room! We have a lot of availability in October and I suspect peak color is going to be pretty early in the month!

I just wanted to put out some information regarding the work on highway 27. The road closure portion of the work is complete and the road crews are now working on resurfacing highway 27 from Boylan Rd to W. Carol Dr. During the next few weeks, if you are coming our way from the south you can come into Hayward on highway 63, turn south onto 27 and should be able to get to us with very little construction chaos (at some point it will be single lane as pave from W. Carol Dr. south in front of our establishment).

The other route, coming through Stone Lake on 70 and North on 27, will run you through portions that may have single closures.

We had a pretty slow Labor Day weekend, but we are picking up for the rest of September. I'll try to keep things updated here as the road construction changes.

People stay with us for a lot of reasons; vacation, family visits, funerals, work, etc. We see a lot of different cars and trucks, work vehicles, boats, UTVs but this is the first time we've had something like this in our parking area. When the gentleman pulled in, our son came to us in the backyard and said "there's a big a** truck and he's wondering where to park it." 😂

If you were ever wondering about our overflow parking area, rest assured we can fit your boats and UTVs!
