They are still at it. Yesterday we had a gentleman stop by and ask if we were open for summer. I told him we were and he proceeded to tell me that he had called to book with us and was told we were full and sent to another hotel. Then, when he drove by he saw our parking lot was empty (all of our guests were out and about) and was wondering what was going on. When I explained to him the situation he was frustrated because the accommodations he was offered did not meet his expectations.

Please, please, please note that we DO NOT have an answering service or a booking agency. If you are looking to book at the Northwoods motel and you call for reservations you will get Stu, Denise or our voicemail and we will call you back. If you get any other service, please do not book with them. Call us directly at 715 -634-8088!

The weather is looking nice for the upcoming weekend and as usual Hayward has activities to take part in!

Epic Bike Fest is happening this weekend, June 5-7 at Mt. Telemark Village. You can find more information on the Birkie website. And, if you aren’t into biking, the DNR has it's free fishing weekend June 6 & 7. If Hayward is known for anything, it’s for fishing!

We are counting down the days until the school year ends (it's 2.5 for the kids and 4 for Denise in case you are wondering). Some familiar faces are showing up and the patio is ready to welcome you. We've heard the fish are biting (at least on some lakes), so load up your boat and get up here!

We took a booking recently from a woman who lives in the town we moved from (Plymouth, WI). She told me her brother was moving here, and I joked that he should stock up on cheese because the options here are limited compared to those in Plymouth (cheese capital of the world). She asked what we missed and I told her Gibbsville was our favorite. When they checked in yesterday, they brought a gift! We have the best guests in town!

When you drive past the motel you might notice this sign… Our oldest will be graduating and we are so proud of her! We moved her to Hayward last summer and she had to start over making friends and figure out a new school. She took everything in stride and has excelled here. She will be graduating with honors in a couple weeks. If you see her working around the motel, please congratulate her!

Perfect day to finish up the tree clean up and work on some other yard work!
