🚨🚨 IMPORTANT TRAVEL SCAM ALERT! 🚨🚨
✈️🏨🚢 PLEASE READ & SHARE!

We want to make our travelers aware of a concerning scam involving hotel and cruise reservations that have ALREADY BEEN BOOKED (this actually happened to me!)

⚠️ HERE’S WHAT MAKES THESE SCAMS SO CONVINCING:

Scammers are contacting travelers AFTER they’ve made legitimate hotel, resort, or cruise reservations.

They may already know details about your trip, including your hotel name, travel dates, or reservation information, making their messages seem incredibly believable!

🏨 HOTEL & RESORT SCAMS:
You may receive a text, email, or message that appears to come directly from your hotel or resort. The message may claim there’s a problem with your reservation, that your payment didn’t go through, or that you need to verify your credit card to keep your booking- or ask you to check in online before your stay.

🚢 CRUISE SCAMS:
You may receive a call, text, or email claiming to be from your cruise line. Scammers may tell you there’s an outstanding balance, a problem with your booking, or an urgent payment required to prevent cancellation.

❗ THE BIGGEST RED FLAG?
These messages often create a sense of URGENCY, telling you that you must act immediately or risk losing your vacation!

🚫 PLEASE REMEMBER:

✅ Just because someone knows your reservation details does NOT mean they’re legitimate!

✅ NEVER click on unexpected payment links or provide credit card information without verifying the request.

✅ Don’t trust a message simply because it appears to come from your hotel, resort, cruise line, or booking platform.

✅ If something seems suspicious, STOP and verify before taking action.

If you renew your passport online, your current passport is immediately canceled when you submit your application. That means you cannot use it for international travel. Only renew your passport online if you have no travel planned for the next 6 weeks. Did you know that if you book your own travels online- you are paying for a service you do not get? And it’s a BIG one- because the OTAs (online travel agencies) many times have poorly trained staff, or you will be on hold for hours waiting for help.. with us? You get a real person to help with your needs!!

Even a v**e pen- be mindful of what you pack, and check the legalities of your location before you head to the airport!!

Legal in the United States does NOT mean legal everywhere.

Americans are subject to local laws when traveling abroad. Be VERY careful not to accidentally pack any medications, THC/CBD products, weapons, am******on, etc. that may be legal at home but are banned in your destination country.

Always look up local laws for your destination at travel.state.gov/destination before you pack.

🚨News You Can Use...

MORE frustrating updates with the airlines. The DOT has announced significant changes with the airlines' handling of flight delays and cancellations. There are 10 specific scenarios where they will no longer need to provide hotel rooms, meals or offering other support for stranded travelers.

📍aircraft cleaning due to a death on the plane

📍damage caused by extreme weather, foreign objects or sabotage

📍baggage or cargo loading issues by outages

📍cybersecurity attack

📍govt. shutdown

📍overheated brakes on the plane

📍unscheduled maintenance

📍medical emergency

📍removal of an unruly passenger

📍airport closure due to weather

The new rule will take place October 19th!
