After a long hot day of COPE, a group of Scouts from Troop 341 needing conservation service hours for Life rank powered through. Not only did they do the service hours they did their good turn for the day. The young men cleaned up old storm damage for two of camp’s neighbors. Helping people outside of Scouting is very important. Despite being hot and tired they worked hard, had a good time and cheerfully served. Thank you all for your time and service.

Cody and Finley installed two more fire rings this week. This was part of Cody’s Wood Badge ticket. Good job gentlemen.

If you have been around Cub Scouts ranges here at camp you will probably remember Alfred Burford. He work tirelessly to create safe opportunities for Scouts to be introduced to shooting sports. I don’t know anyone that knew the manual better than Alfred. He will definitely be missed here at camp.

Arrangements are as follows:

The funeral is May 15 at 11:00 at Christ Missionary Baptist, 480 S. Parkway East.

His daughter has asked Scouts to attend in uniform.
