We are officially out of the Wahoo for this weekend. Wow! You all showed up and showed out! 50 lbs of fresh fish, gone just like that.

We thought we would follow the Wahoo with a little specialty drink to tempt your taste buds. The Turkey Fig Bees Knees is available at The Midland Hotel and Chop House on this fine Saturday!

Turkey Fig Preserves, La Provence Swamp Honey Syrup, fresh squeezed Lemon Juice & Dripping Springs Gin just might throw you over the edge, it’s sooooo good. Shaken and served in a coupe glass with Dark Brown Sugar.

Courtney Patton is playing at Hico Hall and as you well know, she goes BIG. I mean she even has a horn section…………how lucky are we to live in historic Hico, Texas? Pretty darn fabulously lucky I would say.

Just trying to tempt you any which way we can here in Hico, Texas! Our fresh fish feature today at The Midland Hotel and Chop House is Wahoo! Straight from Hawaii. Fresh & not frozen. 3 days off the boat from seafood.com .

This Hawaiian fish is light, meaty & absolutely delicious. And one of the SWEETEST to boot. Pan seared and finished with a jumbo lump crab Beurre Blanc, roasted Yukons and grilled Asparagus tie this dish together.

Good Morning Race Fans from historic Hico, Texas!

The only race we have going on here is a race to The Midland Hotel and Chop House for lunch-brunch service! We are open from 11 till 3 and have all your favorites from Brunch to Lunch and we even throw dinner in there for you.

My tasted buds are saying Red Chile Fried Chicken and Prime Rib………but that Crispy Chicken & Cheddar Biscuit with the house cured Bacon Gravy sure is tempting. And I’m thinking a passion fruit mimosa will do the trick. Are you feeling a little brunch or lunchy?

Snow Crab Boil is back by popular demand! Snow Crab with prawns, potatoes, corn and house made sausage, served with a side of melted butter.
