Phlox is a beautiful flower in the summer but pruning them back in the fall can prevent powdery mildew and other disease. Also, dead heading them can give you a longer season of blooms.

Cutting back Hosta’s in the fall can be a great way to prevent pests such as snails from wreaking havoc on them next year.

Never make compost with plants that have diseases such as powdery mildew. Otherwise, it can spread the disease to your other plants.

Trisha's Weekly Garden Drop: Spring Bulbs preparation
Planting spring bulbs in the fall gives great spring color.
Coffee grounds can be a great additive to your compost but don’t forget that they are considered a green additive instead of a brown additive. Meaning they carry just as much nitrogen as grass clippings. You want to add 3-4 times more brown waste(carbon) than green waste (nitrogen). Happy planting!
