🐢🥬 𝐒𝐞𝐚 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤: 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐚 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🥬🐢
If your friend suddenly switched to a plant-based diet, spent all day sunbathing, and traveled thousands of miles to return to their childhood neighborhood... congratulations, they're basically a green sea turtle. 🌊😎
These ocean grazers are facing some serious challenges, and climate change is one of their biggest threats. Rising temperatures can affect the s*x ratio of hatchlings (warmer sand produces more females), stronger storms can damage nesting beaches, and sea level rise can wash away nests before hatchlings ever get their tiny flippers in the water.

🥗 They're the ocean's lawnmowers. Adult green sea turtles are mostly herbivores and love munching on seagrass and algae, helping keep seagrass beds healthy.
💚 They're not actually green on the outside. Their name comes from the greenish color of the fat beneath their shell, not the shell itself.

🚲 Choose low-carbon transportation when you can. Walk, bike, carpool, or combine errands to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
💡 Use less energy at home. Turn off unused lights and electronics, adjust your thermostat, and switch to energy-efficient appliances and LED bulbs.
🗳️ Support climate-friendly actions in your community. Vote, volunteer, and advocate for policies and programs that protect coastlines, reduce emissions, and invest in renewable energy.
So this Sea Turtle Week, channel your inner green sea turtle: eat your greens, soak up some sunshine, and help protect the only planet with sea turtles on it.
