River Oaks has a rich history of helping people of all ages experience spiritual growth as they enjoy the outdoors. Its beauty and facilities make it a perfect destination for retreats, family reunions, and weddings, along with recreational opportunities that make it ideal for youth camps, educational programs, and children's events. The passion for outdoor ministry of Wilbert and Jackie Coker, wh

o donated the 65 acres of land for the camp in 1964, is carried on through the current directors, Chris and Donna Lovelace, who are committed to making each visitor's experience a special one. Visitors enjoy flexible meeting facilities and a variety of overnight accommodations that include cottages, bunk-style cabins, RV sites, and primitive campsites for those wanting to get as close as possible to nature. A full commercial kitchen, and dining hall ready for your use. Hurricane Helene Updates:
As soon as our power came on, we had a call from Ironman Outdoors requesting to use River Oaks as a base for their relief efforts in the local area. Throughout the week, they served the community removing trees and debris. They also removed the trees off of the shop and girls cabin #5 at the camp. Dry Oak First Assembly had a tree go through the roof of the fellowship hall that they assisted in removing. They were such a blessing to our area. We feel honored to have been able to house them while they worked.

River Oaks now has power and some internet to update everyone. To begin with… God is good!! Around 40-50 trees came down around the property but as you can see in the pictures, trees only skimmed the structures not causing any major damage. A lot of the roads were impassable, but have already been cleaned up. The river bled into the field but will eventually go back to normal. Thanks for your prayers and take a minute to praise God for keeping this beautiful place safe and ready to minister to upcoming visitors.
