"Shimmy Stars" Sisterhood of Dance The SHIMMY STARS The Shimmy Stars is a sisterhood of women, young and old coming together to share their passion for Middle Eastern dance.

With the artistic direction and culturally fun choreography by Hawaii’s top reputable Middle-Eastern Dance Performer, Malia Delapenia, The Shimmy Stars entertain and captivate their audience with their love for dance. From all different walks of life, these women vary in age, size, ethnic backgrounds, careers, families, cultures, and life experiences. Some of these women have no dance experience a

nd some have been dancing since they could walk. Some are martial artists, some middle school students and others are mothers who are in need of some personal time. Though each individual is unique in their own way, all share one common passion, dance. The common bond that these women share develops into a sisterhood that enables each woman to express her sensuality and femininity through artistic expression.
