Brunch with a view in Waikīkī doesn’t get much better than this! 🏖️

Tucked beneath its namesake hau tree and just inches from the sand, Hau Tree remains one of our favorite brunch settings in Waikīkī — and those Benedicts? Some of the best we’ve ever had 🍳

And while brunch might be what first brings you here, this restaurant is just as inviting later in the day, with an all-day bar, Pau Hana (Happy Hour) menu and dinner service 🍹

It’s an easy 15-20 minute walk from the Duke Kahanamoku Statue in central Waikīkī, with a beautiful stroll along the beachfront and past Kapiʻolani Park on the way to Kaimana Beach🌴

It’s a popular spot though, so we recommend making a reservation ahead of time through the OpenTable app.

Craving something a little different for breakfast or lunch in Waikīkī? 🇨🇺

Castro’s Waikīkī brings Latin-inspired food to Hawai'i — with a menu featuring Cuban flavors that's definitely not your typical island brunch.

We've tried and thoroughly enjoyed:
🥑 Watercress & Avocado Toast with black bean hummus, parsley mojo, sea asparagus, local radish and ogo (edible seaweed)
🥪 Cubano Sandwich piled with local Pono ham, pork roast, aged cheddar, house pickles and Dijon mustard
🍍 Papaya Bowl loaded with house-made granola, yogurt, poi and fresh, seasonal fruit

And if you have a sweet tooth, don’t miss one of their signatures — the Tres Leches French Toast with caramel rum sauce, dragon fruit whipped cream, seasonal fruit and pan dulce bread 🤤

Add-on a fresh coffee and settle into the cozy indoor space, or take a table outside under the umbrellas for a breezy Waikīkī breakfast — just be prepared to share the neighborhood with a few curious local birds 🐦😂

Introducing one of Waikīkī's best beach bars, Koa Oasis booze shack 🙌🏽

Sip on reasonably-priced tropical cocktails, local and imported beers and house wines (in plastic cups of course) with an unbeatable view 🍹

If you get hungry, snack on the limited hot dog and chips menu. It's simple perfection!

📍 Find it oceanside at Hale Koa Hotel by Fort DeRussy Beach Park on the west end of Waikīkī. Open to the public daily 12 Noon-6pm.

This is the adults-only Edge Infinity Pool at Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort — stretching 130ft (40m) along the oceanfront, just above Waikīkī Beach with incredible views of Diamond Head 🌊

And you get the best of both worlds — there’s also the separate Helumoa Playground pool complex, complete with a waterslide (something you don’t find at many Waikīkī hotels) 🛝

Oʻahu’s North Shore favorite… right here in Waikīkī ☀️

The Sunrise Shack has grown from its original little yellow roadside shack into an islandwide favorite — it’s even opening franchise stores on the US mainland!

Famous for their colorful smoothie and açaí bowls, smoothies and healthy bites, it’s also the only place we know of in Waikīkī where you can grab a Bullet Coffee ☕️

We opted for the Monkey Bowl 🐒 — banana, peanut butter, almond and coconut milk, cinnamon and dates, topped with banana, granola, coconut flakes, cacao nibs and plenty more peanut butter 🥜

The OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beach Resort store pictured is temporarily closed during hotel renovations, but is expected back in October. In the meantime, head to their The Twin Fin Waikiki location, just a short walk away in Waikīkī 🤙🏽

There are beach bars… and then there’s Duke's Waikiki Barefoot Bar 🍹

Few places capture the true spirit of Waikīkī quite like this. Tucked inside the OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beach Resort — and accessible straight from the sand — Duke’s is a Waikīkī Beach institution.

Come as you are, sandy feet included. Grab a tropical cocktail, enjoy live music on select days and soak up that unmistakable Hawaiʻi atmosphere beneath the thatched roof.

And Duke’s on Sunday? A legendary Waikīkī live music event all of its own, where you can let loose and dance beachside in the sun 🤙🏽

If you want somewhere that truly feels like Waikīkī, this is it!

If you know Australians and their coffee obsession, you know that's saying something 😂

We've updated our Best Coffee in Waikīkī guide with the cafés that still get it right — including flat whites that would hold their own back in Oz ☕
