When a hotel has been around as long as The Breakers, it stands to reason that it would have a greater chance for angels to grace its grounds from time to time. So it’s no surprise that if you ask, the staff (many of whom have been with the hotel for decades) will undoubtedly tell you that there have been many angels that have crossed the hotel’s threshold through the years. Some of these angels are regular visitors, some only visit once. Some stay a long time and some very brief. Most are guests to the hotel, but every once in a while, they are staff.
With that preface, The Breakers Hotel, in world famous Waikiki, sadly announces the retirement of its Senior Guest Ambassador, Mr. Wh**ey IV. Since its 1954 inception, the hotel has had a long history of employing feline Guest Ambassadors, all of whom have served with great Aloha, graciously warming the memories of countless malihini (and even some kamaaina) vacationing on our tiny Hawaiian island in the middle of the Pacific. Mr. Wh**ey IV, with his pure white fur coat and bright pale green eyes, was no exception and served the hotel and its guests with his whole heart for the last 12 years. Though his move to The Rainbow Bridge was both sudden and unexpected, the memories he leaves in his wake will be forever treasured by all he encountered.
Mahalo nui loa Mr. Wh**ey!! The hotel staff bids you fondest aloha. A hui hou!
