Hoodstock festival is August 14 + 15 and takes place right on the water in union. Dance on land, or enjoy the good vibes from your boat or kayak! Banjo Rama takes over Hama Hama Oyster Co. September 12 and 13, right on the water. Two music weekends on a stretch of Hood Canal that most people drive past on their way somewhere else. We love a hidden gem!

We’re twenty minutes from the oysters and a short drive from the music. Come for a shows, stay to explore!

Beast of Big Creek is coming to Hoodsport! The race runs the steep trails up Mount Ellinor above Lake Cushman on August 1 and 2. This year it’s North America’s only Skyrunner World Series stop. We are stoked to see the world showing up for a mountain in our own backyard!

And we’re proud to be a host for Beast of Big Creek Skyrace and Rock Candy Running crew for race weekend. The start line’s up SR-119 at Big Creek Campground, right up the road from us. Race Ellinor in the morning. Land soft by the water at night, hot tub steaming over the canal.

One year ago, the Bear Gulch Fire closed the southern gateway to Olympic National Park. This week, we are giving it the warmest welcome back.🌲
On July 8th, the Staircase area reopens! 🥲 The campground, the ranger station, and the Rapids Loop Trail — after nearly a year of recovery work. If you’ve been missing those old-growth firs and the rush of the Skokomish, this is your moment.
A gentle ask as we welcome it back: the wilderness trails beyond the developed area are still closed while crews repair the backcountry, and burned areas can hold hidden hazards. Stay on open trails, honor every closure sign, pack out what you pack in, and be fully fire-safe out there. This landscape gave us a hard year — let’s love it back the right way. 💚
Reservations are open now at Recreation.gov. And when you come to explore, you’ve got a home base 20 minutes down the road on at The Glen Resort on Hood Canal. 🛶
