At 41, Geena Davis picked up a bow and arrow for the first time, and started practicing archery. By 43, she was competing for a chance to represent Team USA at the 2000 Olympics.

Yes, *that* Geena Davis. The actor from "A League of Their Own" and "Thelma & Louise." In just two years, she made it all the way to the U.S. Olympic archery trials, finishing 24th out of 300 women vying for a spot.

Ultimately, getting a place on the Olympic team didn’t pan out, but going from complete beginner to one of the country’s top competitors in two years? An impressive feat! It’s never too late to try something brand new.

A HUGE SHOUT-OUT TO ALL OF OUR AMAZING VOLUNTEERS! 🎉

Today’s Family Fun Day was an incredible success, and we truly could not have pulled it off without all of you! ❤️

From Nerf Wars and sharp shooting to candy and peanut scrambles, crafts, prizes, food, the silent auction, raffle items, the slip-and-slide, and bounce house—there was something for kids of ALL ages!

And a special thank-you to all the kids and families who volunteered their time and energy to help make the day so special. Seeing everyone come together, pitch in, and create a fun-filled day for our community was absolutely heartwarming. 🥰

Our heartfelt thanks go out to every single volunteer who helped make Family Fun Day the success it was. Your time, hard work, generosity, and smiles made all the difference.
