Tucked away on the third floor, the Honeysuckle room sits at the top of the house. Bright, quiet, and a little hard to leave. Soft yellow walls, original hardwood floors, and a king bed that does its job well. Oh, and a pedestal soaking tub that earns its own mention.

We’re incredibly honored (and honestly still a little speechless!) to share that Vine Cottage Inn was awarded 1st Place Bed & Breakfast/Inn in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia Living Magazine's Best of Virginia 2026 awards.

To be recognized alongside so many wonderful places throughout the Shenandoah Valley means the world to us — and even more so because it comes from the guests, friends, and supporters who continue to choose our little Inn in the mountains. We wish you could smell these from here. Dave has been making cookies using my mom’s chocolate chip recipe, with a handful of M&Ms added in for a bit of fun.

It’s a simple tradition, but one that fills the Inn with a sense of home & has a way of bringing our guests together, one warm batch at a time.

Did you know Bath County is home to an incredible variety of birds throughout the year?

With so much protected land nearby, it’s not uncommon to see species like Golden Winged Warbler or Cerulean Warbler while you’re here. I always encourage guests to take a quiet moment outside; you never know what you might spot.
