3 Houston AORN Chapters Volunteered today!

We joined forces with our partners at AORN West Houston and AORN North Harris to serve our community at the our local Food bank today. It was a beautiful day of service, collaboration, networking, and chapter engagement! Thank you to all who helped in organizing this event and those boots on the ground that helped us accomplish SO MUCH in just 4 hours. Here are a few stats from our work today!

In just 2 hours working with frozen foods we filled 174 boxes, 7 pallets, 220lbs that will provide Houston community with 4,350 meals!!

Then, we helped relabel mislabeled canned goods donated directly from the manufacturer - what a blessing the company decided to give! We relabeled 11,326 cans, 804 boxes, filling 4 pallets, 3085 lbs contributing to 7,000 meals!

Grateful for the opportunity to serve our community at the largest food bank distribution in the world!

Join us next time!

As President of AORN Greater Houston Chapter I hosted my first leadership symposium and we truly had a blast. It was indeed an incredible day of learning, collaboration, and inspiration! Nurse leaders from across the Houston Medical Center came together to share insights, develop leadership skills, and cultivate the future of Perioperative nursing. From thought-provoking sessions to powerful networking moments, this symposium reinforced the strength and passion of our community.

A huge thank you to our speakers, Darlene Murdock, Dr. Danielle Quintana, Dr. Kai Lang, Cynthia Dempsey and our National President, Dr. Nakeisha Tolliver!! I’d also like to thank the symposium committee and all of the attendees who made this event such a success! Your leadership is what drives progress in our field. Let’s continue to support, inspire, and lead together!
