Loved creating this lounge area for Jess and Reid at Wedding Venue in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC last weekend.
Goal warmth, classic fall colors, texture, inviting/cozy space, and bringing the outside fall colors inside.
If I was at this wedding…this is where I would be (probably all night)!

Sometimes you just need to make something pretty. 🌈

After a long day at the new warehouse, feeling a little discouraged and overwhelmed by how much there still is to do, my ADHD, creative-craving brain decided we needed a dopamine hit. 😂

So instead of doing one of the approximately 4,782 things I probably should have been doing, I pulled out some vintage goblets and made a rainbow.

Partly to see how they might look displayed on the new shelving (yes a rainbow wall if goblets and pillows is is…coming soon!) 🌈

But mostly?

I just wanted to make something pretty.

And it worked. 🤍

A tiny little pocket of beauty in the middle of the chaos—and a reminder of God’s promises and something I’ve needed to remember a lot lately:

God’s got this, even when I’m not entirely sure I do.

Maybe we need more of that.

Make the pretty thing.
Notice the light.
Give your brain the dopamine.
Get ridiculously excited about rainbow vintage goblets.

Joy doesn’t have to wait until everything is finished.

Find the little moments. Make the little moments. Sprinkle some lovely around wherever you are. 🌈🤍

There’s gritty behind the pretty. 🤍

I love what I do. Truly. But most of what you see here is the finished part—the pretty picture when everything is finally where it’s supposed to be.

You don’t see the 47 emails before it lol. The proposals, changes, check-ins, designing and redesigning, schedules, timelines, and figuring out the logistics of how in the world we’re actually going to make all of it happen.

Then there’s pulling, checking, wrapping, packing, loading, driving, unloading, setting it all up…and coming back later to basically do the entire thing backwards.

The sweat. The aches. The bruises you don’t even remember getting. 😂 The early mornings and late nights. Weather that absolutely does not care what the plan was. Things break. Things get damaged. Plans change. Circumstances can be hard. People can be hard.

And during wedding season, sometimes you’re recovering from one while setting up another and already planning the next.

Some days I absolutely love it. I get to be creative, make beautiful things and be a tiny part of some really special days.

And some days it is just hard.

Those are usually the days God reminds me that I was never supposed to have enough strength for all of this on my own.

My strength doesn’t have to be enough. His is.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9

So yeah…there’s gritty behind the pretty.

But God is in the gritty, too. 🤍

Officially season and we are here for it….
And by here for it I mean it 3 locations currently and rotating between locations for pulling/prepping etc.
Not at all how I want fall season to be (planned on being settled by end of August, but we will get there!), here we are and making it work/the most of it 🤪
We still have a bit of availability for the fall to add all our character and charm that speaks to you to your wedding!

WE COULD USE SOME EXTRA HANDS! 🤍

Things are growing and changing behind the scenes at A Bushel & A Peck! We’re currently moving our Lenoir + Hudson locations into our new home in Valdese — while heading straight into our busy fall wedding season. 🍂

So we’re looking to add some extra seasonal help to our crew!

This is perfect for someone looking to make some extra money without necessarily committing to a set weekly schedule. Hours and opportunities will vary based on our needs and your availability — anything from a few hours here and there to more regular help throughout the season.

There are LOTS of ways we could use you:

• Warehouse organization + projects
• Cleaning & prepping rental inventory
• Pulling and recovering orders
• Dishes + glassware prep
• Moving, loading + unloading
• Wedding/event deliveries + pickups
• Setup + breakdown
• Painting + projects around our new space
• Handyman/general repair work
• And plenty of other behind-the-scenes fun!

Some roles are more physical, while others aren’t — and we’re open to different ages, experience levels, skills and availability.

Have a special skill we haven’t mentioned? Tell us! Photography, social media/content creation, sewing, upholstery, woodworking, calligraphy/signage, organizing, creative projects… you never know what we may need.

📍 Current work may be in Lenoir, Hudson + Valdese, as well as wedding/event locations throughout the surrounding area.

💵 Paid hourly — rates vary based on role, experience and level of responsibility.

While we’re primarily looking for extra/seasonal help right now, there may be opportunities to grow into more regular work for the right fit.

Mismatched has range. 🤎✨

It can be colorful and eclectic. Romantic and whimsical. Funky and unexpected. Beautifully rustic.

For this reception, they selected our White + Gold china collection, Gold flatware and Smoky Chocolate goblets, creating the prettiest subtle variation from seat to seat.

Nothing has to perfectly match to feel beautifully pulled together. The slight differences in pattern, shape and tone add character while allowing the overall table to feel calm and cohesive.

And that seemingly effortless mix gets a little help behind the scenes. ✨

When we pull, prep and package our mismatched collections, we hand-place the plates and goblets in an intentional rotation, distributing the different styles throughout so the overall mix feels balanced rather than random.
