This chair was given to me by Phillip & Janet Cain. I purchased the house from them.
The chair was in the house when Bessie and Tom lived there. It came from the office of Sheriff Joan Berry. Now there’s a story. Jonas “Joan” Gilbert Berry was elected sheriff for three terms over forty years.
One of Joan Berry’s sons, Tom, lived in the house. Another one of his sons was known as Jittery Joe, a baseball pitcher. That’s another very interesting story.

When I bought Bessie’s Inn there was a medicine cabinet in the bathroom. The cabinet was rusty and not restorable. But I saved the mirror. It’s finally mounted in the downstairs bathroom, which is where it came from.
