Over the past several weeks, I’ve shared room-by-room photos showing how Joy in the Morning has changed.
Paint colors changed.
The décor changed.
Kids grew up.
Yet the most important things haven’t changed.
The sandy beach is still here.
The lake still stretches to the horizon.
The neighborhood still invites evening walks, bike rides, front-porch conversations, and simple summer fun.
Kids still hunt for beach treasures.
Families still gather for sunsets.
Friends still linger around tables long after dinner is over.
Life changes.
People grow.
Homes evolve.
But some places continue to offer the same gift they’ve always offered: time together.
That’s what this little corner of Lake Erie has meant to me for years, and it’s what continues to draw people here today.
Because while the house may be where you stay, it’s rarely what you remember most.
You remember the beach walk.
The ice cream run.
The sunset.
The laughter.
The conversation you didn’t want to end.
The people beside you when it happened.
Those are the things that stay with us.
Those are the things that matter.
As I wrap up this 5-year anniversary look-back, I’m grateful for every memory my family made here and every memory guests have made since.
What began as a place filled with my favorite moments has become a place where so many other stories continue to unfold.
And that’s something I’ll never take for granted.
If you’ve ever thought about experiencing this special beach, neighborhood, and little slice of Lake Erie for yourself, I’d love to welcome you.
Because some things never go out of style.
A beautiful sandy beach.
A slower pace.
The people you love.
And time well spent. ❤️🏖️☀️
