Moms will get to slack off on Mother's Day morning, because this Sunday we're starting up the park's much requested pancake breakfast again. Maybe not every Sunday morning, could change to Friday and Saturday instead. We'll figure it out as we go.

The bathroom remodel project at the park is nearing completion just in time for summer. Hope you all enjoy the new marble showers (great for singing) and large wall murals of nearby Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. I think it would look even better with some judgemental sasquatch faces on the walls.

Took a ride on the Snake River Ferry with Captain Zane. When he says he can get you close to the falls, he means close enough to reach out and touch them. Get your tickets soon, the season is almost over. I would also like to nominate Captain Zane's exceptional beard as the unofficial mascot of Snake River RV Park.

This weekend was the Great Snake River Duck Race just upstream of the falls. It was only a 15-minute, half mile stroll down Lindsay Blvd from the RV park, which was convenient since parking spots were scarce. Little speedboats with enormous engines raced up and down the river and there were plenty of beautifully restored vehicles at the car show. The instrument panels of old cars are somehow fascinating. My favorite was a red 1960 Corvette. The ducks were dumped into the river by a crane at 4 PM and the race was on, with the fastest quackers moving at a walking pace. The first one over the falls won its owner a Kia, which funnily enough was probably the most uninteresting car there.

We are happy to welcome the American Grub food truck at the park over the next few days, because who doesn't love a good dose of hearty 'Murican comfort food? Come by and try their patriotic grub while you still can. Located at spot E13 near the main office.

Explored the Idaho Falls Farmers Market this weekend. Held every summer Saturday along the Snake River just a mile from the RV park, its like a mini state fair every week. Lots of locally grown produce and locally made craft products and even some live music. I had some beef jerky and almost got a Make America Bearded Again hat. Speaking of beards, Captain Zane of the Snake River Ferry was trolling for customers at the falls. Add a ride with him along the river after seeing the Market for an easy Saturday right here in town.
