In 1986 when returning from a trip to The Adirondack Museum and with no experience of running a golf course or the town of Indian Lake, Dr. Peter Goldblatt saw that CRGC was for sale and convinced his wife Anna Lou to allow him to put an offer in on it. Low and behold- the offer was accepted. Since then we have come to call Indian Lake home, made many great friendships, had many wonderful experiences- and learned a lot about running a golf course! Many factors have brought us to this point; the passing of Doc in November, Anna Lou aging, not being open in '20 from COVID and the fallout after that. We also learned a lot about the history of the course over the last 34 years- had the pleasure of knowing Doc Carroll and many of Dewey Brown's family members and Mr. Pope who all have helped pass the history on to us. Our wishes are to keep the history of the course alive- and get the Golf Course operating if at all possible. We have offered the Town the first opportunity to purchase it as we feel that would be the best opportunity for it to remain a golf course. If it hits the Open Market there is no saying what would happen to the property. We don't really want that for the Course, residents, vacationers and the history that so many have worked very hard to build. Thanks, Tedd Goldblatt

The last couple of years have been extremely tough, we can all attest to that. Today is the hardest of all. It is with an extremely heavy heart that we pass along the news that Doc (Dad) passed this morning. He absolutely loved the golf course and the many friends that he had made there- we all hope that he, Fred and Roxanne Eichler, Doug and Ruth Goyer, Carol and Ernie Blanchard, Chris King, Dick Scully, Ernie Bennett and many others have a tee time waiting for him- we're sure he's got a story or two to share!

We have all been facing a force greater than ourselves over the past few months thanks to the COVID Pandemic with many of us making great sacrifices for the betterment of all. We at CRGC have been dealing with some additional issues like the financial repercussions from the October flood, which heavily damaged 6 sections of our bridges, and trying to figure out how to operate in confined spaces like the kitchen and pro shop when Social Distancing is paramount.
After careful consideration of the combination all of these and other factors, it is with a heavy heart that we are announcing that Cedar River will not be opening this season.
We hope that 2021 will be VASTLY different and that Cedar River will be your destination for golf once again. Please be safe and take care of one another!!
