Two Iowa based artists, 1 awesome hotel! I really want to make a splash at location #3 so we’re stoked to collab with TWO awesome muralists which we’ve never done before.

Christine Hilbert is going to welcome our guests in our building entryway. And Whimsical Twist is going to put us on the map outside.

I’m meeting both to discuss concepts / mockups and my brain is mush. What would you guys like to see? I read every comment!

Things shifted to 2nd gear in April, though we’re still waiting on contractors, deliveries and permits before we can really kick into 3rd soon!

Massive thanks to Iowa Foundation Repair (local to Winterset!) for knocking it out the park. They treated the project like they were working at their own home which means the world.

Got seriously spooked seeing our January revenue…even after improving the breakfast, deep cleaning entire hotel, new locks, and upgrading marketing (before major renovations start)

A 62% drop YoY is never great, but we keep going.

Every hotel brings it’s own unique set of challenges, and I’m still confident we can turn things around at this hotel.

We need your advice again gang!! Renovations are due to start in Feb, and I’m still unsure as to what we should do with our outside patio space in Winterset.

The patio in Chariton is an amazing space, not just because it’s huge and has multiple things to do, but because it acts as a great attraction for potential guests passing by.

In Winterset, we don’t have either of those benefits…No main road by the hotel, and not a ton of space to work with.

I’m thinking under our canopy to have a seating area, a putt golf strip down the side of the hotel, a fire pit, and BBQ. What do y’all think??
